The Craft Nest owners Lesley Woods and Miranda Osterman will make you feel right at home in their unique DIY studios. The duo hosts expert-led monthly workshops offering an ever-changing menu of handmade crafts with an artisan flair. In addition to their studio at 116 Church Street in Whitinsville, the business recently celebrated a grand opening in its second location at 290 West Main Street in Northborough.
With their combined love of DIY, and a vision for offering classes to the public, Lesley and Miranda first opened The Crafty Nest for business in 2016. Perched in a small, third-floor space on Church Street, in Whitinsville, their plan quickly took off. Within months of opening, word began to spread about their personalized craft selections, and the individualized instruction in their workshops. So, with business booming, Lesley and Miranda set their sights on a new, bigger studio for their Nest.
In April 2018, The Crafty Nest moved into its new location at 116 Church Street, just a few doors down from their original space, but in an expansive, 2,500 square-foot, street-level store front. Once in their new location, Lesley and Miranda got to work growing their business by offering more public craft nights, private parties, and even began a summer camp program for children ages 6 to 13.
With their continued popularity amongst the DIY crowd, the Crafty Nest began filling their bigger studio to capacity during their public craft nights. Customers were drawn to Lesley and Miranda’s patient and professional teaching style, and were thrilled to create their own beautiful pieces. It was in September 2018 that Lesley and Miranda began the daunting task of researching a location for a second Crafty Nest studio. In December 2018, Lesley and Miranda’s hopes for a second location came to fruition when they opened their new studio at 290 North Main Street, in Northborough.
